Psalm 147:1,3 (NIV)

How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him…He heals the brokenhearted  and binds up their wounds.

The Scriptures declare that God is “Jehovah-Rapha,” our healer. However, more often than not, we only think of His healing in terms of physical afflictions. Meanwhile, Psalm 147 says He heals the “brokenhearted,” those who’ve been crushed by emotional wounds. He heals the pain of divorce. He heals the grief of losing a loved one to death, He heals the disparagement inflicted by an enemy. 

Do you need proof? Then look at the story of Joseph, who after having been betrayed by his own brothers was reunited with them. Or consider the story of Naomi, who after losing her husband and her two sons, was nevertheless given the joy of grandchildren.

Are you emotionally wounded? Is there a healing which needs to take place inside? Then take heart! The Lord is your healer!
