Merry Christmas

Pastor David

I'm keeping it short and sweet for this week's devotional with Christmas just a few days away!

Luke 2:8-12 (NIV)- And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

The baby who was prophesied back in Genesis 3:15 as the one who would strike the head of the serpent has arrived! The prince of peace, the lord of lords and the king of kings. The ultimate redeemer. The one who is, who was and who always will be. The alpha and omega. The one whom our calendars are set to (B.C. and A.D. (Anno Domini- in the year of our Lord). He is the reason for the season. Without him you wouldn’t be receiving this devotional, HCC wouldn’t exist, and we would all be drowning in our sin with no hope out. But because of him, we have escaped sin and death and found mercy and grace. Because of him, we are made righteous in the eyes of the Lord. Because of what he has done and who he is, his birth is celebrated all around the world! And it all started from his humble beginnings, being born to a carpenter and his young wife and laid in a feeding trough.

So, I end with this.

Jesus Lives!

Merry Christmas!
