Do Not Be Afraid of the Giants
Pastor Ken
Numbers 14:9 (NIV)
…do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.
Israel did not want to face the giants of Canaan. Instead they wanted to turn back to the wilderness because no giants could be found there. But that’s the way of going forward; you’ll always encounter the giants going forward, never going backward.
Some Christians embrace the notion that the power of God is supposed to lift you up above the giants. But that’s not supported in the Scripture. In Scripture, you face your giants! David faced Goliath. Daniel faced the lions. Elijah faced the prophets of Baal. And so, you must also face your giants; it is unavoidable. But the comfort which stems from the Gospel is that through Jesus Christ, when facing the giants, you will emerge the victor.
II Corinthians 4:8-10
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
Giants are a necessary agent when learning to stand fast on God’s Word and relying upon the supernatural resources of the Holy Spirit. There is no failure in daring to believe. Failure only happens when you move backward instead of forward.
Here's praying that you move forward today.
Have a great Monday.
